Grant Road Industrial Center

Welcome to the GRIC Owner's Association website. Established in 1961 by the late Joe P. Juhan, Grant Road Industrial Center was the first industrial park in Tucson. The park originally was geared to serve the mining industry. In the 1970's & 80's it thrived as the prominent industrial park in town working with city fathers to attract new business and industry. It served as a blueprint and set the stage for other industrial developments. Its convenient location near Interstate 10 only strengthens its position as a contender in Tucson's I-1 industrial space market.

Grant Road Industrial Center is an association of 25 building owners, a total of 470,000 square feet under roof. Each building is managed by its own leasing company. The park is zoned I-1 for industrial uses: manufacturing, modern machine shops, hydraulic ram plating, water lab testing, electrical switchgears, entrepreneurs, importing/exporting, mining related activities, office uses, some wholesale/retail distribution, a daycare, contractors and churches, etc. As Tucson has grown it has become a west side icon as a sample layout for other business parks in the city and state. Its close proximity to the Interstate 10 makes it a gravitational point for the shipment of products and services provided.

On this website a building owners can post space available flyers, links to their real estate broker, their favorite contractors, tenants or any general information concerning Grant Road Industrial Center. Also, available are the CC&R's, By Laws and Annual Meeting Minutes and Park News. The website is an added way for association building owners keep up to date and give input or ideas to make this industrial park better. Feel free to give feedback or become involved. As a building owner you have voting rights and I encourage you to attend the annual association meeting the 1st week in December.

Located on the north side of the industrial park is Juhan Park (a City Park). Built in 1997 by City Parks and Rec. There is a basket court, softball field, a playground and ramada. Donated in 1991 by Kay Juhan, it provides a mix use, serving the west side community and neighborhoods. Instrumental people in the dedication were Sam Camacho, Glenn Dixon, Jose Ibarra, Jim Ronstadt, Dan Felix to name a few. On the weekend and in the early evening sometimes you can catch a little league team practicing for a big game. Currently we are trying to promote a softball complex for El Rio/BAJA girls fast pitch softball. In the future there are three more proposed softball fields. Please go to Park News to get the update. Also in the near future is the proposed Pima County Linear Park along the south side of the Santa Cruz River for bike traffic and walkers/joggers. Soon we hope to see lit fields at night and hear the sound of children playing sports tournaments on weekends and holidays. Please encourage with your letters to Parks and Rec. & Tucson City Council to move forward with development.

Privateer Security Forces patrols at night, Their 24/7 contact phone number: (844) 657-8880. Be advised if you have an emergency first call 911 to get TPD officers to respond. Unfortunately, in today's world security planning is a must. A layered system will keep your business from experiencing down time due to vandalism. Check the preferred contractor list for a security system company or let your fingers do the walking in the phone book. Bright outside lights, motion lights, motion sensors, a monitored alarm, bars, fencing and barbed wire, laced fence, etc. All these components are important to having multi-layered security system. In today s world security is a component to a successful business.
